HISTORY

Roxanne came from a rather sizable family with parents that were protective of their children, making it hard for her to go out to parties and/or try to play sports like soccer or baseball. really the only activity her parents allowed her to participate in was swim and water polo because she was such a skilled swimmer. ( Even then, they were still pretty suspicious of water polo. )

When she was fourteen, Roxanne discovered the world of skateboarding and instantly fell in love with it. She saved up all of her money for her first board and starting riding as soon as she possibly could. Her parents disapproved of her new found hobby and discouraged her from pursuing it. Despite their objection, she persisted in learning and practiced in secret, sneaking out of the crowded house at night ( with the help of her sisters who encouraged her to learn )to practice and meet her friends who shared her interest.

Now, however, her protective parents has become more lenient to her skateboarding and her dream to become a proffesional as long as she does something that involves swimming. Each member of her family was a swim coach / life guard / professional swimmer at some point and they wanted each of their daughters to carry on the tradition. So, to please them, she became a life guard and now juggles her budding skating career with her new part-time job.
